My husband, Rich, and I bought a cheap Granny trolley from the market a few years ago, we loved it. It fell to pieces pretty quickly. We were gutted.
We thought about buying another one, but we had a good idea about what might happen... So, we decided to invent our own, but stronger. And way cooler.
No-one else in the world is making quality shopping trollies that are built to last. So we set about fixing this, creating something design-led with bright bold colours. Something that would turn heads. Rad Union was born.
Rich and I love, art and design and Rich is a collector of limited edition trainers (the wackier, the better.) We used these passions to inspire the original design for our trollies. The frame and wheel colours are all bright and bold and our bags are one off designs, with patterns you won’t find anywhere else.
Our first design collaboration was with artist Cool Shit, and since then we have worked with up and coming artists, designers and influencers. Every limited edition is unique, but they all fit with our Rad Union vibe.
It’s super important to us that our shopping trollies look great and people feel amazing walking down the street with them. But, we never forget why shopping trollies are more than just a cool accessory. Between 2019 and 2020, the major supermarkets still sold 564 million single use carrier bags. That number is reducing but there’s still so much more we have to do to reduce waste and single use plastics.
The pandemic has had a detrimental effect on independent shops and local high streets too. We’re strong believers in supporting our local communities and let’s face it, leaving the car at home when we can to reduce emissions is a good idea as well.
We all need to do our bit where we can, but doing the right thing doesn’t have to be so serious! Rad Union is here for some fun! Shop our limited editions today.
